The most irritating thing on television

Taking your shoes off in your home (or someone else’s) is customary in a lot of cultures. But Americans are infamously split on this custom, which many people find weird when they visit here.

Of course, Hollywood doesn’t help this, and you’ll often find characters doing some unsavory things while wearing shoes indoors. The most irritating show I can think of for these faux pas is That 70s Show.

These Wisconsin teens are constantly putting their shoes on the couch, something that would’ve driven my dad as crazy as Red. They have absolutely no respect for this couch in a house that is not theirs.

Look at how deep Kelso’s right shoe is buried into this couch. And it’s not like they’re being corrected by Eric. He walks on it like everybody else.

And I get it, this is just the couch in the basement. It’s already dirty so why not treat it like garbage?

But it doesn’t stop there. They also wear shoes in bed whether together or alone.

They all do it. Throughout this entire show, all I could ever see is these teenagers wearing their shoes everywhere.

Jackie is the most high maintenance person on the show, and she still walks on her bed in shoes like it’s ok.

Donna does it regularly too.

I don’t know that there’s a bedroom scene in this entire series that doesn’t involve shoes on the bed. You’ll often even see them with their shoes on the pillows.

here’s Kelso with his shoes and butt on Fez’s bed and pillows. If I walked into my room and you were doing this, we are absolutely fighting to the death.

And it’s only the kids who do this – Red takes his shoes off for bed.

So obviously it was a conscious decision to depict these teenagers as simply wearing shoes and stepping on all the furniture.

I totally see why Red is always angry…
